CITIC Securities Brokerage (HK) sponsors the Hong Kong Simulated Trading Challenge 2017

Hong Kong, Monday, 27 November, 2017 - In order to promote the development of FinTech in Hong Kong’s financial industry and explore FinTech products and services which are suitable for its clients, CITIC Securities Brokerage (HK) Limited (“CITIC Securities Brokerage HK”) sponsored the Hong Kong Simulated Trading Challenge 2017. An award presentation cum dinner was held last Friday, 24 November 2017.

Mr. Tony Leung, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alan Fan, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Eddy Lau, Head of Retail & High Networth Brokerage, Ms. Polly Poon, Executive Director of Third Party Business & Product Management and Ms. Maggie Fong, Manager of Brokerage Business attended the award dinner on behalf of the company. In addition, the top three winners and the nine best performers of the challenge were invited to join this event, along with four representatives from the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Undergraduate Department and the Chinese Students and Scholars Alumni Association at the University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Leung said: “Since the establishment of the Innovation and Technology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, more than HKD18 billion has been allocated to the launch of FinTech related projects. The Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po, has also set aside HKD10 billion in the budget this year to further support the development of FinTech industry in Hong Kong. The Fintech Supervisory Sandbox, which was launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, has played a significant role in facilitating the development and application of financial technology in the innovation technology and the financial industries.”

Mr. Leung further pointed out that: “As one of the major securities brokers in Hong Kong, CITIC Securities Brokerage HK is committed to accelerate collaboration between local FinTech companies and financial industry, providing resources to facilitate training and support. We hope that Hong Kong will be developed into a regional hub of innovative financial technology, transforming financial technology into a new impetus for diversified economic development.”
